996 Rodent Damage
Just purchased a bit of a basket case. Rodents made the engine bay their home and I cannot find where some wires go. The harness portion is the one from the passenger's side body harness that has the airflow meter connector in it. I cannot tell where the other wires went to other than three that went to a 6 position bullet style connector. I need to find where they go before I can continue finding out its other faults.P

Those evil dirty little rodents, sorry to see that happened to you. Hopefully you can get it all patched up quick. Ill take a look at my wiring and see if I can be of any assistance.

Came upon a 996 Turbo Cab in for rodent damage. The tech had to drop the engine to replace the engine wiring harness and some rubber/plastic lines that the critters has gnawed through.
There was some interior damage to as areas of the carpets had been scraped smooth of the carpet nap to make a nest. A/C vent tubes had been chewed through. The rodents gnawed a tunnel through the interior of the car to the engine compartment. A real mess.
The car owner had to make a claim on his home owners policy to cover the cost of the repair.
In another case, a Cayman, I don't believe there was any engine wiring harness damage but the critters had chewed holes in the rubber sheeting that helps form the radiator ducts and through some of the plastic lines that run from the front to the back and which carried gasoline vapor.
But even in this case the owner had to fall back on his home owner insurance to cover the cost of the repairs.
