Nice wheels, not really a fan of 19's but first look really good!

Yeah, it really looks amazing. Unique but still very 911-ish, like a 2.7 Carrera RS is still 911-ish, but totally unique.

Did you do the detail yourself or have someone do it? I am considering having someone do mine. I have a black car and swirl marks, and $250-$400 is what the going rate is, versus doing it myself for a bit less but I'd have to equipment (Griot's) and the Polish for next time.

Thanks guys, i did the detail myself using meguires products ( ultimate compound with a 6" buffer , then gold class wax hand applied and buffed)
Took me 2 weekends including applying the stripes. Also detailed all the rubber and plastics just using armor all.

This is my first black car, and it took a bit to get the swirls out from previous owner.
I have about $ 60 in materials and lots of hours

Thanks. Not sure I want to learn on my car, but seems that polishing isn't too hard.

Great job. Black is so rewarding when properly detailed. The depth in the paint seems to go on and on.
The stripes and wheels add some personality to the 996 as well. The hours spent, at least for me, are the relaxing part. It takes my mind of everything else but the car in front of me and that's exactly how I like it. Enjoy.

Thanks for the comments, if you use a buffer, just make sure you don't press too hard so you don't damage the paint. But it's really pretty easy to do, apply the Polish on a foam pad on the buffer and make sure everything is clean, you will get the hang of it pretty quickly.

Great result, looks stunning.

I strongly recommend you use a Dual Action polisher as the rotary polishers have a high risk of paint damage in inexperienced hands.
I use a RUPES Bigfoot 21 and RUPES polishes finishing off with Farecla G3 wax.
Have done both these cars myself. Mirror finish. Original factory paint except for bonnet respray on quattro.
