996 shift ****
The 996 shift **** is too tall (I already have the 997 sport shift kit from suncoast), it feels like I'm shifting with a cane. What shorter gear shifter options do we have that will work on the oddly shaped shifter stalk (and would come with a boot that will snap into the stock location)?

I'm not sure but this may qualify as a "first world problem." I haven't seen any alternate shift ***** though other than the Rennline silver ball. It doesn't come with a boot though.

I was thinking about trying this one I just wanted to see if we had any other options.

I have one of those and had the local upholstery shop make a very nice leather boot with the old recycled frame. The **** is adjustable to square it all up. Just don't mash yourself in the face pulling the old **** off, no joke.

I purchased a shift **** from Black Forest Industries and have been pleased with the quality, feel, and ease of installation.

The function first **** you linked earlier is height-adjustable, and can go shorter than stock. I'm using one in combination with a Redline shift boot and a Ben Nenert short shift kit (B&M clone refitted with full ball bearings). First-world-problem solved

+996 on the standard shifter being quite tall...
The numeric racing shifter on the 'shortest' setting physically lowers the leaver the shifter sits on down, might be worth looking into it.
Can't comment on the amount the height change as my Numeric is on the middle throw height.
