I searched but could not find the answer to this question...
I have an aftermarket Kenwood Excelon single DIN unit with stock speakers and amp. My amp is the HiFi not Bose version (2000 C2). I am thinking about upgrading my dash and rear speakers to alpine sps-410. Wondering if there will be increased sound quality with using the stock amp or if I will need to upgrade the amp as well.

It will sound slightly better, but it would be best to upgrade the amp......big changes there. I did exactly what you are thinking about (upgraded the speakers), then I just put the amp in a few weekends ago, BIG CHANGE, now to change out the door speakers and finish the subwoofer in a week or two. Here is my thread with pictures:

Are you running both door speakers mono off the 5th channel?

As Paul suggested, I would also replace the amp. Those Alpine speakers are a great choice; if you're not 100% set on them, I would also look into MB Quart - incredible sound and overall quality. Best of luck!

No....I am putting in DB651s Polk Audi low profile speakers in the doors, taking out the subs in the doors.

The amp powers the dash and door speakers, and a new sub in the back powered by the 5th channel.

I have the Alpines in my car. The sound quality will improve with new Alpine speakers, there is no doubt about that. I have found the sound quality is noticeably better when I'm streaming music from my phone instead of listening to the radio. While the Alpines are clearly better than the crappy stock speaker, they are still only 4" mid-quality speakers so you're not going to be blow away by the sound. You might want to change out the speakers first and evaluate again before throwing in the new amp.
