Same thing happened to mine four years ago. I bought a used one (99662833300 from DC Automotive for $85.00), took the ball tip off the one i purchased and installed it on the one still in the car. Then used JB weld around the "ball" to keep it place. The base where the ball snaps in place allows the ball to be rotated so it can be aimed appropriately on the lamp, but it cracks in time (new or old) but I decided i did not really need it "rotating" anyway, so once i was done adjusting it appropriately, i glued it in place.

Thanks for the responses guys........

when I bought the car I HATED the headlights, in large part because they were the same shape as what was on the boxter.

I found the headlight covers on the internet, they were cheap enough so I took a chance.

The body shop I use painted them and did the install. They have been on the car for approximately 15 years and they still look great.

JimmyB - no problem, make sure you "JB weld" all the tips when you are done or the other ones will come off too.

I have never seen just the tip for sale, but if you find a used whole assembly from eBay (~$100) you can remove the tip yourself, and have a spare tip.

Here's a tip. Buy this instead:
BMW E46 325i 328i 330i Driver Left Headlight Washer Nozzle AUTOMOTIVE LIGHTING

Same tips as the ones on the Porsche.

The nozzles do appear to be the same. How does one go about getting the nozzle out of the socket? They are in there very tight. cannot even swivel the nozzle in the socket on the new part.
Was cheap though, $24 with shipping for something Porsche wants $170.

I am thinking a thin bead of superglue around the nozzle where it meets the top of the socket...

Thoughts?

I tried super glue, it did not hold. JB Weld did the trick. make sure you align it before you glue it in place.

Just replace both L & R on my 2001 C4 from suncoast porsche. Easy Job. Just remove headlights, one screw each and unclamp hose & reinstall. Remember, they only work when headlights are on/
