Default Cleanup Motive Bleeder after bleeding?

Hi, All;

Does anyone use anything special to clean-out brake fluid residue from their motive bleeder after use? I'm not thrilled with leaving fluid in there just because of the potential hazard of it dripping on a painted surface.

Thanks for any suggestions;

I believe they suggest denatured alcohol. I swirl some around and then leave everything out in the sun for a few hours before putting it away.

Use a paper towel to wipe it out, and make sure the rubber/silicone tubes are empty. The plastic will discolor if you leave fluid in it for too long, especially if you're still hanging onto your last cans of super blue.

Via Motive on how to clean:

Never store hydraulic fluid in Power Bleeder. Always dispose of excess fluid properly. Use Denatured Alcohol to clean your Power Bleeder. Do not clean your Power Bleeder with brake parts cleaners or other solvents not intended for use with plastic components. Pump the Denatured Alcohol through the tank and hose assembly and let air-dry. Lubrication of the Power Bleeder pump mechanism should not normally be necessary. Should lubrication be required, apply a small amount of brake fluid compatible grease to the circumference of the Power Bleeder pump piston. Never lubricate with petroleum-based oils.

I never put brake fluid in the bleeder! You just need to apply head pressure to the reservoir and that can be done with air through the motive bleeder

I use mine dry.
Its a PITA to clean it each time

Keeping brake fluid in it is also a bad idea as it will absorb moisture from the air and there is a lot of surface area in the bleeder

I just remember there was a running "discussion" on whether to use wet or dry. We just dumped an entire liter of ATE 200 in it. Worked great (first time). Cleanup was relatively easy thanks to the reminders here that the instructions were (duh) in the instructions. RTFM, right?
