Default exhaust

Anyone have any feed back or experience with Brombacher exhaust or Milltek? Looking to upgrade my C4s with little more grunt but don't want the drone.

You might want to consider the Fister D modification of the stock mufflers. There are plenty of you tube videos that you can watch and listen to. If I am not mistaken this is similar to the Porsche Sport Exhaust which sounds great.

If you're just looking for sound, go with Fister. You won't be able to wipe the grin off your face.

Milltek sounds perfect IMO. I had some issues with fitment but I think on a C4 it would be super-easy. My opinion is that they designed the mufflers for the wide body, and left it way too tight on the narrowbody. Fitment on your car would be easier.

Here you can compare the sound of the 996 w/ Milltek at full chat, vs a C7 Corvette, a 991 GT3, and some completely unmuffled Boxsters.

In street driving it's perfect. Below 50% throttle it sounds identical to stock, and in fact when you're off-throttle I think it may even be quieter than stock. There is zero drone on the highway, and you can still have a conversation at completely normal volume. Put your foot down and it growls a little more, and at WOT it sounds like an animal. It adds a lot of bass, but very little high-frequency noise like a lot of "racy" exhausts. I really think they nailed it.

Here you can watch leaving the pits and a warmup lap, which gives you a sense of what it sounds like when driven gently, and then you can hear it at full speed.

My car came with the Bromacher exhaust (just mufflers). It sounds amazing. It's the only 996 I have ever driven, so I cannot comment on any performance difference.

I feel our Maxflo Exhaust System would fit you quite nicely, shooting you over a PM
