Default New 996TT owner - a little TLC is going to go a long way...

Hey everyone, after lurking for years and finally becoming a RL member a couple months ago I decided to jump ship on BMW M and move to Porsche. This 996TT has good history, low miles (53.5k) and the mods I want, and a good color to boot. Mechanically she is awesome, but the body and interior is going to need some TLC to get back up to my standards.

This car was originally built by a rennlister a couple years ago (about 10k miles ago). Markski provided most the engine parts (and will help me with any re-tuning i may want to do in the future). Suspension is KWv3 and GMG goodies.

Here is a couple pics (last one is after her filthy trip back from out of state) and my to-do list that is in no particular order, and is likely to change day to day. Ill update this thread as she progresses. Suggestions welcome!

TO DO LIST
1. Headlight restore
2. Front rotors
3. Flush and bleed brakes
4. New Front Lip
5. Paint correction
6. Clean and polish windscreen
7. Full interior clean
8. Underbody/suspension detail
9. Engine detail
10. Spray seat backs
11. Remove sub, amp and secondary batt
12. Remove radar/laser shifter setup
13. Refinish wheels/ new wheels/ new Rs3 or 888 or keep PS2?
14. New ride height (little higher)
15. Alignment
16. Install ALP jammers
17. Install RD hardwire

Beautiful car!

The headlight covers make me sad for some reason.

Are the motor mounts in good shape? Pipes look a little low.

headlights are actually painted body color. Outside lense and inside. So sad

i have started to restore them, they came out pretty good. Pics tomorrow.

engine mounts are new-ish. Exhaust is even, I'll see if there is any adjustment to bring them up a tad.

Great looking car!

+996 on removing those headlight covers i'm personally not a fan.

I really like that ride height, any reason you're wanting to raise it?

Welcome and congrats. Beautiful exterior color. I suspect it has a gray interior. Those are tough to keep looking nice.
Lots of us 996tt types here on the NA996 forum, but be sure to post an introductory thread over in the 996tt forum also.

Love the color. That was my first choice but had to settle slighty to get the other options I wanted. Agreed on headlight covers and motor mounts

Remove excess weight, clean & install anti-police state apparatus. Two thumbs up, enjoy!

Maybe that's why I can't find any 996tt info in here. Haha.

Guess I need to track down the tt forum.

Smart man! It seems like the painted masks on your car would have been illegal and down right unsafe since it was painted over the turn signals. Yikes! Good news you're restoring it back to the factory look.

I've never liked those masks personally. I always thought the 996 lights were cool, but since they were unconventional to the 911 purists, they hated us... well, you know where that discussion could lead. hahaha!
