Painting Brake Calipers

Feels like being a poseur to me. Like putting a the word Turbo on your car when it isn't one, or GT3, etc. The colors of the brakes mean something. If you want better brakes than stock, then do the job and upgrade them.

Not everyone can afford a GT3 or S car. Maybe they just like the look of Red.
Mod away.
Add turbo and gt3 to the deck lid; that will really **** off the purist on rennlist.

I can totally understand that painting calipers might come across as poser-central but I think there is a lot to be said for some of the subtle mods many people make to their rides with the objective of making them more unique. Caliper colors for one, exhaust mods or vinyl decals for another.
I personally don't like the idea of slapping "Turbo" on a 911 that is isn't the real deal though. That's disingenuous I think and not cool. The Turbos and GTs are such incredible machines, they should be left alone.
I spoke to a Porsche dealer today and their parts specialists told me that the yellow brakes have meaning, but the silver, red, green and blue options don't mean anything anymore. When you configure a new 911/991 you can ask Porsche to paint the calipers whatever color you want. With this said, I think ok with fine tuning my ride this way.

I went a different direction. I went with a satin black caliper paint and Brembo decal. The color goes with my vehicle color scheme and the brakes we have are actually Brembo calipers, so I didn't think it was posing.

** FWIW - it's your car, do as you like
