Painting Brake Calipers

Painting Brake Calipers
Has anyone had success painting brake calipers? My 996 came with the standard silver color and I'd like to switch them up to a red, blue or yellow without forking out thousands on upgraded parts.
I've seen lots of YouTube videos of people painting their calipers. The process looks prettt straight forward but I've also heard and read horror stories of the paint not wearing very well, even having used high temperature resistant paint.
Any success or horror stories out there from anyone who has tried to do this? Thanks!

As is the case with any paint project, it's all about the prep and the proper materials. If you get those right, the job will hold up... If not, it's a crapshoot at best...The results generally look great when they're finished - the proof is in how long they last. Good luck

I haven't done my 996, yet, but I've done a couple of other cars, with great success. Never even removed them, but taped off everything really well. The trick is to not overspray parts that shouldn't have any paint. Porsche decals are available on the net. As someone said above, prep is key. Clean everything fastidiously and you should have a good outcome. Several light coats work best.

I got mine on eBay. That matched perfectly. As a precautionary step, measure the individual letter size in mm of your caliper letters to confirm with the seller... and make sure you tell the seller you want correct color. Most people get white of course.
