There are usually a few OEM non sunroof headliners on UK eBay if you want an original one.

Otherwise my car had a custom alcantara headliner that I replaced for an OEM one.

The custom one didnt look like it would be difficult for an auto trimmer to make.

Scheduled to have the new roof, GT3 nose, and Getty SP996 rear wing painted in a few weeks. Turning my attention to batteries now. Anyone have a suggestion for a battery that weighs in at 10 lbs or slightly more? I use a battery disconnect so there should be no ongoing load. Looking for something that will hold up for a race weekend without needing a trickle charger or jump.

Lithium ion battery will be the lightest you can get, some good brands out there such as Braille, AntiGravity. LOL you thought Porsche tax was bad, wait till you see the prices on these bad boy's. the one in my Harley cost me 500.00 and only weight 4 lbs.
here are some example

Most are using the Braille 17lb'er or the odyssey 13lb'er for SP996. I have a $200 Battery Tender Li-iron battery from amazon that weighs 3.5lbs and works awesome!

Thanks for the input. I see the Odyssey 625 weighs in at 13.2 lbs. The SP996 requirement is >10lbs. so OK there. Summit has this at $113 - relatively inexpensive way to save 29lbs, (compared to removing the sunroof anyway!)

Good progress as the LRP Club Race on April 20th looms.

Went with the Odyssey battery and splurged for the Rennline aluminum box to secure it (vs. my first inclination, which involved 2x4 scraps and nylon strapping!). The fit is good and the whole setup weighs 15lbs. The original battery was 39 lbs, so a net weight savings of 24lbs.

Upgraded to adjustable Tarett 'GT' sway bars. A little trouble getting the lateral stops to work on the front bar, but they seem to fit well otherwise.

Getty GT3 bumper and rear deck/wing arrived yesterday. Will fit those over the weekend. Anyone figure out how to attach screens to the GT3 bumper? Looks like very fussy work. Maybe I can set the screens in an epoxy bed? Dropping the car off for paint on Wednesday...

I blew off putting the screens on and haven't had any issues. Getty rocks by the way. They are going to start getting all of my business from this point forward. I was using another company and they wouldn't split pairs so replacing my headlight cover and end plate were going to be over $400. Getty said they do it for $50.

I just made the connection that you are on the SP996 email list as well. Good luck at LRP!!!!

A bed of epoxy or silicone should hold for awhile.

Roof skin, GT3 bumper and Getty tailbase with SP996 wing all back from the paint shop last week. Rivets and epoxy used to attach roof skin - looks very solid. Ended up using some epoxy to bed the screens in the tailbase (very hard to do a neat job here because of limited access). Will use epoxy and some speed nuts to attach the front screens. The fixed side windows went in with 3 screws using the existing mounting holes (with some spacers to stand off and fit into the OEM gaskets). Used the recommended Dow Corning 745 silicone to bed the 5-Star lexan rear window, and 12 small screws around the perimeter as well. I can see that it will deflect under pressure so I may fabricate some aluminum bar stock to secure it further. Pix to follow.

I haven't heard or issue while going forward but while trailering mine backwards, my rear lexan bowed in and the pressure broke the seams. I have 2 - metal straps across it (front to back) that saved it from flying off. The straps are attached using nut certz and small bolts.

Can you post a picture of you quarter glass install?

Here are some pix of the new parts and the lexan installs.

GT3 bumper cover from Getty

SP996 tailbase and wing - also Getty

lexan quarter window - installed with spacers and rubber washers using (2) bottom existing holes and drilled/tapped (1) new mounting hole for the upper screw

Test fit of rear lexan window. Will send shot of final install soon.

Lots o' green parts. Will probably sell the sweet ducktail that came with the car (bottom left).

New Roof skin. Mostly epoxy and clamps, although I used a few rivets front and back. The epoxy is rock hard after curing for 24 hours.

Don't suppose you happen to know the weight of the Ducktail? I'm assuming that's the Getty basic model? Trying to decide... Thanks!
