It does appear to be a lot of damage but not enough for them total it in my opinion.
I was involved in a fender bender a couple of years ago with similar damage and my insurance repaired it. Can't even tell now as the shop was selected by me and did a great job. Unfortunately my insurance did go up because of the claim but not completely unexpected.

Don't you love being penalized for something you pay for?

Sorry to hear about your accident, perhaps the animal will survive.I hit a large dog while driving my '67 912 back in the last century. I was going about 60, the pooch ran out before I could react and Bam! I jammed on the brakes, pulled over and was astonished to see him running away to his nearby home. I talked to the owners who were very apoligetic and paid for my broken fog light. The dog had gone under the front pan, somehow avoiding the wheel and came out the side, I guess as I locked up the brakes and went a little sideways. I know this because he left a trail of fur in the undercoating.

I ran over a dead dear one night coming over a hill at about 65 mph. All I could do was center her up...it was an ugly mess under my car (300 SRT) and the smell of the flesh stuck to my exhaust clamps and pipes was very unpleasant!

My old neighbor had 2 boxers, Spike, the male, got hit twice in the matter of a year. My "sub" is just a small private drive with 9 houses in the country where the road is 55mph, with that said, Spike did fine had a broken leg but lived a happy and healthy life. The dog ran through his electric fence often.
Given the price to fix the other's TT that might be a total, if there is issues with the radiator and such. Typically 41% and up from KBB they'll total out, parts, labor and such all included. Might be good, have them settle for a high amount, buy it back from the ins co as salvage, use the settled amount to buy and fix the car and walk away with some money...you could lose if you sell, diminished value, but might be a good option if they give you 16-20k or more and only 5k to fix and buy back.

Anyhow, no steering or suspension or drivetrain damage. No airbag deployment either. But a lot of expensive hardware was damaged. Those headlights are super expensive and a tire was cut and both had to be replaced. A wheel was scuffed and had to be refinished but was ruined at the refinisher's and had to be replaced. (This was paid for by the wheel refinisher.)

You do want to make sure the car is repaired to its pre-collision condition. My Turbo was and has been fine since. It was repaired and kept its CPO warranty.
I have a PDF of the Porsche Approved Collision Center Program standards (circa 2008 but I think the newer one is about the same) I can send you. If interested send me a private email to me with your email address that can accept a 1.1MB PDF as an attachment and I'll forward you a copy.

I definitely will make sure everything works right again. I called my nearest Porsche dealer and they were more than happy to give it a full check up, once USAA starts paying the tab of course.
The real scary thing is that if this does get totaled, there aren't a lot of good C2 manuals in my area. This could spell an upgrade to a 997.2 or 991.1. So not completely awful.
