what is the secret?
Does anyone know the secret in removing the 2 electrical connectors on the back of the alternator? I need to remove the alternator completely so I can exchange a new oil filler tube on the car. I have the alternator out but the electrical connectors need to come off so I can completely take the alternator onto the garage floor. Thanks in advance.

I just did this when I replaced my power cable during the big AOS job.
It's straight forward although you might not have a lot of slack in the cable. Nut for the main power cable and then just a plug which pulls right back - I think you have a tab which you have to push at the same time IIRC.

I just did mine too Hurdi, I had a bit of a struggle (mostly from the exhaustion of trying to get the alternator out in the first place) but after some wiggling it came free. There is a pinch clip there if you look close. I had to apply some pressure (as if plugging it in, rather than taking it off) to get the clip to release, then a little wiggle and off it came.

Ok guys I figured things out. Removed the alternator. Also the two small bolts at the base of the filler tube (what was left of it) fiddling fartin job. Replaced with new filler tube. I put things back to where they were (hoses and other bracket above alternator) started it up and bingo. Thanks again.

I need to replace mine as well. Did you remove the throttle body to do it? Did you do anything else while you were in there? I plan on replacing the serpentine belt.

I cannot even count the number of times that the hardest part of a job turns out to be getting an electrical plug to unclip. I've found that looking at the new part will sometimes show me what is holding the plug in. Also, a tiny flathead screwdriver and a pick can make a huge difference.
