Not necessarily a perk, as you might know if you owned a pickup truck and realized that you essentially are reduced to "free-moving-help".
And if you refuse -- awwww, man, you help everyone else"
or "sheeese, man, okay, AH, can you then just lend me your truck for the weekend?"

One gets over the kolige kid socialist-share-my-wealth attitude pretty quickly, unless you get heartless and learn to charge for your time and equipment.

I can't speak for everyone, but I have no problem saying "no" if I can't or for whatever reason don't want to do something.
