How-To : Re-Pin Porsche 996 headlight connector
Hi Everyone,
I'm doing the 996 to 997 GT3-RS front conversion and need to re-pin the headlight connector as the 997 use A5 Pin instead of A4 as the 996 (for the High Beam)
My question is how can I remove the pin from A4 and put it back in A5 ?
How to re-pin the headlight connector ?
I did a lot of search and didn't find anything specific on Porsche 996.
Thanks
Alex

You need a "molex" pin tool. Something like this:

Anything small enough to get in and bend the wings out of the way should do though really. I use dental/modeling picks.
Look at the connector really well though as there could be some other mechanism helping to hold the pins in.
For example on the connecters I had to use for my P!g's bumper conversion, in addition to the wings on the pins themselves there was a little slide lock buried at the base. I wouldn't have even known it was there if I hadn't been building an adapter (it came with the slide in the open position) rather than messing with the wiring harness directly.
