Mine gets driven nearly every day, which I didn't expect when I bought it. Completely worth it to me.

I drove my 996 Carrera ( i bought it with 15k miles only ) for the first 2 years daily and pretty hard from then till today. I cant depart from this car as its so much great fun and easy to drive . I never had any issues with my 996 and none of my mates who have 3.4 and 3.6 NA 996s ( like 4 people ) had any issues as well, i think there is a lot of paranoia on the internet and to drive and own a 996 needs a certain passion in my opinion. 40 jahre model is amazing, i wanted to buy one and test drovbe it but had 50k miles back when i got my 996 which was almost brand new so didnt get the anniversary model which is the best 996 na model in my opinion as it has some amazing options - extra power, sports seats, 911 badges etc

Mine's a daily driver '04 C2 cab. Averaging 45,000km per year with excellent reliability. Drove as far north as Fort St John, BC and south to LA last year and this summer down to San Diego and back up the coast. Still can't wait to get behind the wheel every day.

all depends how risk adverse you are.

Motor could fail (about 28 different ways i think) or it could be fine. At $20k plus for a rebuild, its up to your whether you want to assume the risk.

I drive mine at least 3-4 times a week and enjoy every single mile. Lots of 120 mi round trip commutes regularly. Stellar.

Right there with you! 20k in under 2 years, no autocross but then again every drive to work is basically a time attack... haha

Best feeling getting into this car to start my day. I don't think I could imagine not driving it. So much fun
