X = N + 1 (X is the number of Porsches you should own, N is the number of Porsches you currently own).
I'm evidently a firm believer in the above formula. My 996 now has an air cooled companion. I just welcomed a high mileage California car to the Midwestern winter wonderland. It's a midnight blue '96 C2 with 116K miles. The car needs some TLC, but is in relatively great shape - recent top end rebuild, PSS10s, near full service history since new. I'll be the third owner. First up is a deep cleaning, then a clutch (it's original), alignment (it's below RS height and bump steers like crazy), then cosmetics and easy stuff - paint correction, rebuild climate control servos, brake pads, etc...
Finding a decent air cooled car for less than crazy money isn't easy, I've been looking for 6 months or so - driven and reviewed several SCs, 3.2s - and figured a 993 was out of my price range. Patience paid off.
I'll be spending some time with the 993 forum guys, but there is no plan to dump the 996 any time soon.
BTW - nothing but smooth service by the guys at Intercity. Easy shipping, super professional, 6 days from the time I placed the order until the car showed up.
Now for visual proof (via iphone camera).
Loading up from California.
Unloading - let's see how this thing does in the snow.
Seems to be a trend here, start with a 996 and then add an air cooled one. Maybe one day four me too but for now I;m sticking with my 996. Good Luck to you both! Enjoy them and "drive them like you stole them"!

Good profile shot before leaving CA.
Settled in next to the 996.
spruden,
Thank you for the kind words and photos of the delivery of your C2. We really appreciate your business and look forward to helping you with any future moves.
Sounds like you have good plans to get it back in shape. Hopefully you'll be able to get it all done this winter so you'll be able to mow the lawn come spring
Wife would kill me if I bought another car....I own (3) cars right now and At one point last year I owned (5) she made me sell 2 of them off .. My golf R and SRT8 jeep went away
I agree completely with your math equation X = N + 1.
I've been gathering Porsche cars for many years. Several years ago I had a lady I was getting rather serious about ask me in a rather snarky manner "Why do you have 8 Porsches?" My reply to her was "Because I haven't found number 9 yet."

I just bought an '02 C4S as it's a beautiful car (in my opinion) at a reasonable price point. If money was no object, I would have bought a 993 Turbo, '17 Turbo Cab, GT4 or Boxster Spyder.
