996 prices increasing?

1. You can get a warranty on anything. Just depends on how much you are willing to pay
2. Prices have not changed much in 3-4 years. Mid teens for a high nice beater - Mid to high 20's for a better lower mileage car
3. There is always someone on Rennlist who will tell you that you overpaid. If fact the 996 they have was given to them and the seller also gave them some cash just so the seller could have the privilege of selling them a car
4. It's a c2. The c4's came out late on the model year. All had egas, psm and clear front front and rear lenses. And no LSD in a c4. They had Psm. Get your VIN decoded by Porsche for $100.

Ps. My father in law in number 3. He bought cadillacs every 2 years from the local dealer and they lost money every time he came in because he was such a good negotiator. This went on for years

Hi all i just joined, i had the pleasure to drive a new gt3 on a race track a few months ago and since then i have been dying for a porsche. The GT3 is slightly out of my price range but a 996 is more in the range. i tried to find some info but so far nothing concrete but is the 996 pricing on the rise? i am wondering if i should wait or pull the trigger now? considering a 2004 4S at the moment

The description of the frunk says it is a C2. The C4 has a large lump where your spare is and it's spare is collapsible and under the floor of the frunk. The other listed tell tale signs are correct too (door sills and silver calipers).

Hagerty says values are flat for 996. I agree with most that if there ever is an uptick it will be in the early cars with better engines, and less gadgetry. Which is why I have a 2/98 build date with M030 and 220, 222, 224 and aero. Can't beat that.
