I know it's a fast car, and I know it's eminently collectible, but damn the 959 is a fugly car. 80% 911, 20% Supra.
It's got all of the ugly elements of a Testarossa without the Testarossa-ness.
Also, why is it that Porsche gets away with cutting gaping holes in various body panels when they need more air? Rolf and Wolfgang decided the turbo needs more air, so they took a Sawzall to the car...

Damn, I got outbid! now $777,777, cute.
Heated elec seats too. Kinda like a 76 Caddy Eldorado.
So - CA title, but it can't be registered in CA? Also should be street legal in the remaining 49. Yeah - doubt it. That is interesting. I wonder what kind of title it's on? Could be display and show, not for highway I guess. Likely not in NY where I think they copied CA emission rules pretty close. Wonder if Seinfeld has one and where it's registered?

^ I thought the same thing - Most stuff is either 50-state or 48-state legal; I'm not as familiar with 49-state legal.
The tail of that Porsche is longer than the nose of a Buick. Old-school, long-tail aero, maybe...
Or it might not actually be any longer than a 911 - just uglier. Not sure.

I'm not an expert, but I believe cars that 25+ years old can be imported legally even if they have not met emissions or safety standards from a Federal perspective. It's just that California has stringent emissions criteria that makes this a 49 state car.
