I purchased my first 911, 1999 911. It has run great then I had a MAF issue. I replaced it and cleaned the intake. It has not ran the same since. It is installed correctly and I purchased a BOSCH.
The car has run rough then over time got better. I drove it all day yesterday and no issues. This morning I tried starting and it starts and run for a second then shuts off. I do not have any codes and it continues to do this. I did fill it with gas prior to this issue and it has a full take. What do I do next? Can anyone help?
What is the p/n of the BOSCH sensor and are you sure it's for your MY and model?
You may want to remove and clean the idle stabilizer that tends to gunk up with mileage (power it with a 9v battery. Make it rotate and spray it with plenty of brake cleaner to loosen up the gunk). Do you know when the fuel filter was replaced last time and is the intake air filter clean?

Double check that the air filter and the MAF plug went back fully and both the metal rings tightened. A clean air filter as suggested by Ashai. Best gas on board. Did you get a CEL which tempted you to change the MAS?
Cranks but does not start - not getting fuel, fuel pump not working, or the CPS has failed. Do not think it has something to do with the MAF. Car will run with MAF unplugged. Check fuel pump fuse and fuel pump relay. If okay, probably the CPS.
Maybe I said that wrong. It cranks and starts but immediately idols down and ****s off. This all started with the MAF but it was running fine now this. I have not changed the fuel filter. One last thing when this happened first was right after a filled with Gas but it started then because the it was warm. When parked it in the garage overnight that is when it started. If the tank is to full will it cause a problem?
Well then, so it is not throwing a CEL? I would try these things: remove the gas cap and work the internal flap with your finger. Reseat gas cap. Undo the negative battery lead and wait about 15 minutes before reconnecting. This will reset the ECU to a base level so it can re-learn your new MAF. You may have to do as Ahsai said and clean out the Idle Control Valve. Does the engine run if you try to keep it running above idle? Make sure the MAF is installed correctly, facing the incoming air flow, and the electrical connector is tight. You can unplug it and see if the engine idles correctly. Did you remove the air filter box to replace the MAF sensor? Make sure the air box hose to TB clamp is tight. What are the old and new part numbers for the MAF sensor you replaced, and where did you get it from?
Is your '99 a C4? If so, you have e-gas; recalibrating the throttle may resolve this for you. Search e-gas calibration; it's a simple process and has fixed similar issues for a number of users here.
RE ensuring the MAF is oriented correctly: If OP's using the factory airbox, the MAF is keyed; the screws can only be installed when it's facing the correct direction.
As DBJoe suggested, try it without the MAF connected to see if the stall goes away.
