Coupe roof liner colour?
Hi all!
My OCD got the better of me again recently...
Had a few scratches in my roof liner from the previous owner so I sourced a roof liner from a 2003 grey with black interior C2.
Arrived and it was a lighter shade than my original... Bought another from a 2004 black with black interior turbo. It arrived and its the same colour as the one I bought...
Upon further inspection of my original there is a marking on the back that says "ALCANTARA" and then "1235401" printed several times. The craftsmanship also isn't as good as the two I bought. The centre seam stitch is actually crocked among a few other things like glue where the original fabric might have been. The colour does look awesome though.
Anyway was a dark alcantara an option? There is a listing for a "black" headliner in the brochure.
What colour is the right colour for a black interior MK2 car?
Thanks!

I have black interior in my C4S. I think mine is more of the gray color. It's hard to tell by which way the grain is pushed. Either of your choices looks correct. How does one scratch the suede headliner????
I thought it was typical 911 protocol that the women were to take their heels off as not to scratch the leather dash or headliner.

Meds! Ran out recently hence all the threads! Haha
Anyway confirmed that the darker colour is a custom job as it doesn't match the sunroof panel!
Ahh the joys of being the 3rd owner!
Anyway I couldn't find much info on it thought I'd start a thread
This is what threw me:

Was like that when I bought it, have no idea what caused it.
Either a really tall woman with her heels on or possible roll cage install and un-install
I'm surprised no ones commented my spelling of "colour" haha

At first I did think that, or possibly grey coloured cars had grey headlines even if the interior was black. However now I have two both from black interior cars, one of which was an 04' black on black.
Also the craftsmanship on mine doesn't look quite factory.

You spelt grey correctly too.

It could be very old stock, it may have faded. But first instinct is to say that you are in australia and maybe the part has been shipped around alot of other countries before it came to you

I have an '02 coupe with black interior, and my headliner is a dark grey. It certainly isn't black.
I suspect you have the right part, and I salute your OCD tendencies. I've never had seam deviations register as a problem.

Figured out it was possibly custom as it didn't match the sunroof panel but you couldn't really tell. Or at least I didn't!
