Default Thoughts on painted center console

I've got an 03 996 Turbo in Speed Yellow with a black interior and the center console is showing its age with the typical peeling and wear (its black). The car has the "aluminum look" package which includes the gauge surround, steering wheel and thin plastic trim (the one that says "airbag") all in light silver. I have a friend in the auto body business and he can paint my center console with a factory finish. I was looking for opinions on that - do I keep with the theme and do it in silver or have it matched to the car in Speed Yellow? I really like the yellow but I have a feeling that with the other silver trim pieces will be too much. What do y'all think?

Something like this:

or this:

Mine is a OEM option matching the exterior. Porsche design knows best so that's the way I would go. Match your exterior color.

more money but nothing looks as good as the carbon fiber on the center console. I get lots of compliments. If not carbon go silver and wrap the backs of your sport seats yellow.

Thanks for the input guys. I think I've outgrown the carbon fiber stage and although I think it looks cool I wouldn't do it on my own car. When I decide on what I'm doing I'll post before and after pics. Was thinking that if I go with yellow, I'd swap the seat belts and get those in yellow as well. Someone mentioned getting the sport seats and do the back in yellow - I'd love to do that as well but my car has the standard seats so i'll be on the hunt for a set of those sooner or later.

I would go Speed Yellow console and seatbelts in a heartbeat, I love it as an interior accent colour. Hardback seats sounds like a bit more of an investment, they look ridiculously cool but the sets I've seen haven't gone cheaply.

I bought a painted Ocean Blue console to match my exterior, hasn't gone in yet but I'll post pictures once it does.

Depends on what you like. The silver looks classy, the yellow looks bold.
Since you asked, my personal preference is for the silver.

My old 996 was Guards Red and all the areas you mentioned, except the center console, was Guards Red as well. The console was black. I struggled with having that painted GR too, but thought it would be too much. Maybe start with the accents and then you'll know whether you want to go full yellow or not...

Doing the center in yellow with the silver accents and otherwise black interior IS a lot going on.

This is the Nissan Juke interior, which suffers from exactly the issue OP mentions...

Carbon Fiber is for the small shrimp. If you wanna go big, gotta do the Carbon Kevlar. Coincidentally, it comes in it's native black/yellow schema which would be suitable for OP's application since he has a yellow car.
