Default 996 headlight compatibility?

I have a mk1 996, and am looking to replace the headlights to get rid of the orange. Found a place locally that has a pair of litronic xenon headlights for sale at a reasonable price. He says the only thing needed for the upgrade is the headlight, ballast, and the wiring harness needs ro be replaced. I am unsure on the wiring harness. He says its just a short harness from the center to each headlight, and he will include this. Can anyone confirm? How much of a project will this turn into?

Unplug the old stuff, plug the new stuff in. It takes about 5 minutes.

Its plug and play. I Also replaced mine with litronics. Made a huge difference in the look of the car as well as illumination. I suggest you also upgrade the bulbs to Osram Xenark Nightwatchers or Osram CBI bulbs.

Accoring to the pelican article if you get the harness then the low beams rotate up when your tuen on the high beams for a brighter beam. Without the harness then this function does not work. the high beams still work, just not as bright. From what I have read, still a big improvment over the halogen.

I suspect I might be in a minority, but I am quite pleased with the performance of the standard halogen headlights.

I am really looking to do this upgrade to go to clear lights for asthetics. Finding litronics for the same money, was just a bonus. I am fine with the function of the halogens

If you have patience you can buy each side separately for less than 1k. I spent around 600 dollars for both litronics.
