I usually post in the 997 forum (I have a 2009 C2S), but I helped my hot friend Sam do plugs, ignition coils, belt, air filters on her 2004 C4S cabrio. And I got to use my Liftbars.
Man that is tight in there... getting to the plugs etc. I can't see how anyone can do plugs without taking the bumper and muffler off. You can see I am a rookie with PSE as I didn't realize popping off the vacuum line was easy.
All went well..... we installed the newer ignition coil design as preventative maintenance. All parts "OEM", not Porsche labeled, from Pelican.
Issues? YES!!! After we reassembled everything, we got a dreaded check engine light FK&*$ !! So I plugged in my Durametric and I had a misfire on cylinder 1. Took everything apart again and sure enough, one of us didn't snap the ignition cable down all the way. Darn rookies we.
Differences with the 997.2? 996: Belt change is easier, plugs are way more fiddly. Both cars are pretty much the same.

Liftbars, only used rear jack stands... the Harbor Freight speed jack is barely high enough with hockey puck. My Craftsman jack goes up higher. I highly recommend Liftbars.
Sam applying torque.
