Default Fast street pads

Hey guys,

I have a 2000 Aero that I just finished installing PSS10's and TE37's.

The pads and rotors are worn (brake wear light came on as well) and I'd like to replace the pads and rotors at the same time.

I haven't been too impressed with the OEM pads...seem to not have a ton of bite or feed back.

I have had good results with R4S in my other fast road cars. Any reason not to get Porterfields for my c2?

Thanks!

One more - what are decent replacement rotors people go with? I have an account with Stoptech and am considering those.

Cheers

For extra feedback you maybe also would like to install stainless steel braided brake lines.

Off topic: Show me those wheels on your car!

I use EBC red stuff for street but they still lack real bite. Hawk DTC70 and Performance Friction PFC-08 have amazing bite on the track but are a little loud for the street.

Can't go wrong with Stoptech's rotors.

Default Ferodo DS 2500

From my experience Ferodo DS2500 is the best all around cross over pad available.
They have excellent bite and modulation, require no special bedding.
Plus the prices are very attractive in comparison to a PFC 11 or 08.
Rears are http://www.apexperformance.net/FCP-1...500_p_107.html
fronts are http://www.apexperformance.net/FRP-3...500_p_105.html

EBC red or yellow are good choices

Red is ceramic, so lower dust
Yellow is a streetable track pad

I'll update the thread with some photos soon.

Thanks for the feedback so far...I'll look into the Tarrox and Stop tech rotors.

Open to any input too

Look on ebay for Meyle rotors
I bought a pair for the front for around $80 and the rear around $75

Yes, that is for a pair!

I'm running Sebro slotted rotors all around and have been pretty happy with them. The cross drilled factory rotors cracked on me after a few visits to the track.

I'm running cool carbons , great performance , low dust

When the time comes I am thinking of installing giro disks oversized rotors .

Hey guys,

Now you got me worried about cracked rotors. I MAY do an HPDE at a local track one of these days, and it would suck if I cracked a nearly new rotor in the process.

Of the OEM replacement rotors, is there a particular brand I should stick to? On my current rotors I don't see any cracks of any kind but I don't think the car was ever driven very hard.

Thanks!

I have always run with OEM rotors. Have had problems with pads, but never with the rotors.

Triple Black, which pads did you have trouble with?

If the cross drilled are OK (they look awesome) I may look into Sebro cross drilled replacements. Would only move to slotted if I need to.
