Cross drilled rotors crack but it's really just small fractures on the surface. You don't even worry about them until they reach the edge of the rotor. If you aren't tracking much you will probably never even get them.

Zimmerman is a highly respected brand as well. The Mehle's definitely seem to be the bargain and I think they are German made as well.

All rotors will crack. Cross drilled, flat, slotted, whatever. There are alternatives to OEM. Some better. Some cheaper. They are all (essentially) the same thing - a big hunk of metal.

Ya but watch out for the Chinese rotors. I had a buddy that tried a set of chinese slotted and they wore out in one track weekend. Wouldn't have been a big deal except they wore out a new pair of Pagid rs19s at the same time.

Another vote for the Cool Carbons. Just spent two days with them on the track. Good initial bite and modulation for a street pad. Also very low dust.

I don't remember which ones they were (I tried so many before finding this forum) but I went through 100% of the pad material on the front in ONE track day!

Just because a part is made in China does not make it inferior
Lots of European manufacturers have their parts made in China

Are there cheap low quality parts made in China, Yes.

I agree. That was probably a little more of a blanket statement than I intended.

Although my cousin has a sourcing business in China and you definitely have to have a good QA process in place. One time he had an entire run of snowboard bindings fail so he went to the plant to see what the deal was. They had run out of one of the ingredients of the plastic compound and had just substituted for another of the same color. Whoops!

Default My 2cents

On the recommendation of my P-car "guy", I installed Textar rotors and Pagid pads front and rear. Now a year later, I'm completely satisfied...excellent bite/very progressive, some dusting, and very quiet.

Both Textar and Pagid are TMD Group brands, the world leader in brake components.
