You might run into finish problems, also painting it can be difficult b/c it does not take the paint in well as OEM products. Honestly, nothing beats OEM. If interested, I am selling my oem Turbo front bumper if your interested.
wwest, are you sure you need a headlight change to go from 02 stock to 02 Turbo? I didn't, but I had to use the Turbo "eyebrows" Maybe it's different from stock to GT2 though.
Interesting about the bumper. I would like to know who makes the best finished gt2 bumper for a 99 and that takes the oem paint the best as compared to the stock bumper. I am thinking about going this way if I end up keeping my car. Also turbo rear bumper too, please. Don where did you get your rear turbo bumper and how much? thanks.
I have had experience with the GT2 bumper that PP offers. It comes from NR Auto. The finish on the bumper was good. The fit was not good. I had a hard time sending the bumper back. NR Auto accused the Porsche Dealer Fairfield Motor Cars of CT of altering the bumper. Bottom line it did not fit on my car and the dealer never altered it. I would look at Cargrahics. They have a Carbon Fiber one for the 99 996 that is only a few hundred dollars more. If you want more info let me know.
wwest, I guess I misunderstood the question. There are "turbo look" bumpers available for pre 02 996s that do not require headlight change. They are aftermarket, of course. I've seen some pics of results and they look very good. M A Shaw comes to mind.
