Default Renegade V8 prototype for sale in Dallas

Wanna V8 996? Don't want to hassle with the conversion?

Here ya go; http://dallas.craigslist.org/ndf/cto/5552967568.html

Not an endorsement, and no affiliation. Don't know if the seller is on rennlist or not, just found this interesting.

So, according to this listing a 996 with a LS3 replacement engine (roughly $6,000 - $8,000) is worth (if it sells at or close to asking $) at least double what a comparable 996 with a real Porsche replacement engine would sell for (I paid $15,000 for mine with 134,000 mi.)? Must have Porsche scratching their heads...

I think its interesting concept but the price is just

Why pay that amount when you get a 996.1 GT3RS re-body for $39k

OMG that just hurts on so many levels

I love this bit though:

So we have something that doesn't look like the MkII GT3RS (or even GT3) due to it having the wrong headlights and something that doesn't look like a MkI GT3 due to the wrong rear wing and front bumper.

Why can't PCNA do something useful with their army of lawyers and beat idiots like this into the ground for misusing their trademarks?

The "GT3RS" (the interior pics, incidentally, look like someone bled on the wheel and hood release) on eBay - shown here so future generations can also enjoy...

...made me think of this:

While I wouldn't pay that much for it, I like the idea if it works reliably. Just strip that bitch and track it!

Speaking of GT3RS, I hear your favorite 997 GT3RS driver might be considering un-modding.

Google returns this as the first image for "most random thing on the Internet;" I think it's a good start for your challenge...
