Default Do I need new motor mounts?

Can someone please post a pic showing the correct spacing of the exhaust tips for a 2000 C2?
Just trying to determine if it is my turn in the barrel.
Btw, tips are stock but mufflers are by GHL, if that matters.

This is about 2 years after replacing mine with OEM mounts...
Oops - sorry it's a 2004, not a 2000.

It's a 16 year old car and the motor mounts are a wear item .
If they have never been changed , it's time .
Your car will fell better . Especially on swift uphill bends

The stock mounts aren't great to start with .

Wevos are are good balance between firmness and low nvh .
Plus they will last twice as long as the oem ones .
I don't think solid ones are a good idea , even on a track car.

I have a 2000 C2 Cab and just changed mine yesterday with Porsche OEM and I do feel a difference in the gear change especially to first from a standstill. It was very notchy and hard to engage before. The overall drive is also more firm and solid so you should definitely change yours if it has never been replaced before. It's a pretty simple DIY if you have a good jack-stand and a basic set of sockets and a deep 18mm with 6" extension.

BTW my exhaust tips were slightly uneven and 10mm-15mm lower compared with the new mounts. You can clearly see that difference if you compare the Old vs New mounts side by side. Do a search for the DIY, because there are many available online. Good-luck, cheers,

For the cheap price and ease of changing why not (especially if they are original).

Ty triple, mine have just a bit more room than yours, but as someone said, with60k on the car, it might be close to time.
Not sure if I will go the aftermarket route or Oem.
I'm leaning toward some like the Wevo that someone mentioned as the car already has an x-74 euro sport suspension on it.
Btw- just to throw gas on the fire; original IMS, Rms, Abc, Def, etc.

I just put my rennline mounts on today, and it made a huge difference. Car only has 50k miles on it. I'll make the statement that any 996 with the original motor mounts should have them replaced immediately.

After seeing this thread, questioning the gap in the tailpipe area on my 99 C2. Is there a direct relationship between gap and motor mount life? Photo attached, and guidance welcome. Thanks!

This is a public service announcement: brought to you by the members of rennlist. If you ask the question if you need new motor mounts, the general consensus will be yes you do. It doesn't matter if you just changed them this morning... We will all tell you to replace them. Haha

Take the passenger side one out and have a look. It takes less than 30 min. This way you'll know for sure.

If those are the original mounts then they should be replaced. I suspect the exhaust tips would come up nearly an inch with fresh mounts.
