im interested in purchasing an extended warranty for my 99c4. It is out of warranty so I am looking at an aftermarket third party vendor. I was wondering who you guys are going with, who has had good experiences and who has had bad experiences. Remember to indicate who is good and who is bad. Thanks
I bought warrantygold based on recomendations. Have not used and thus have no opinion. Have heard stories that are not paying.... But again only stories and no real experience.
IMHO if you can get from your Porsche dealer, that is the way to go
Warrantygold is BANKRUPT. They aren't paying anyone at all. I saw a spread on the news last week. I have an aftermarket warranty for my BMW, which I just used for the first time recently. It worked out well. I had a $100 deductible, and the job was over 2K. Everything but deductible and a $50 part allowance was covered (meaning, the company would only cover my A/C compressor up to $650, and the dealer charged 700, what a rip). By the way, my dealership was Wide World of Cars, the place that also sells Ferraris in Spring Valley, NY. They are the WORST!! I'll never go back there again. A bunch of crooks. I am thankful that my warranty was so tolerable of them. By the way, I purchased it through Warrantybynet.com.
Not true. WG is NOT bankrupt, their claims administrator, headquartered in the Cayman Islands, is. They are trying to recoup their funds from the administrator, pay claims and then find another administrator.
I bought a 1999 C4 with a Porsche-certified 2-year/100K extended warranty, but I bought my car from a Porsche dealer, i.e., I wasn't trying to get the Porsche warranty after already owning my car. Porsche began this extended warranty program in June of this year, so they're still relatively new with it. The list price for my extended warranty was ~$1,600, but I got it for closer to $1K. I've already gotten my money's worth in terms of warranty-covered repairs that the local Porsche dealer has done for my car. So I totally endorse this program.
I recently purchased an extended policy through American Auto Warranty, but have not had to use them yet, so no feedback. I heard about them on one of the boards, maybe this one. Might want to so a search.
