Default Wheel dilemma...

2003 C4S, former garage queen now getting driven as Porsche intended.

Installed some new custom finished GT3 replica wheels from Wheel Dynamics. 18x8.5 (et. 52) Rear 18x10 (et. 54), with a 17 mm rear spacer.
I like the look of the sport classic "Fuchs" look, but didn't want to run 19's so designed something similar on a GT3 style rim.

Car is getting H&R lowering springs and Bilstein B8's next week, so that should improve the current Paris-Dakar 4x4 ride height.

Wheels are great, just not sure they work with a wide body car, and Polar silver.

i'm a big fan of the turbo twists - love the look.

IMO those aftermarket black wheels take away from the cars overall stance and the fender gaps look pretty sad especially the front - if they were 19" they might look better

I think the new wheels look bad@ss but it's all a matter of taste. Groove is right though, if looks is your thing, you need to take of the gap upfront when you lower it.

I personally love Turbo Twist IIs on widebody cars. I also like Sport Technos, they're a bit more unique but still with a similar visual theme.

I think with a ride height adjustment, the GT3 replicas should look fine.

I like the turbos twists better. Great looking car and great story in your other thread. Cheers!

I much prefer the new wheels (I thing they look fantastic and will only look better when you get the suspension calibrated as you have indicated), though I have never been a fan of Porsche twists (any variety). I suppose twists are something of the iconic 996 wheel, but, in a corresponding fashion, they also date the car's look to the early 2000's (somehow, especially on a silver car). Perhaps they overly reinforce the 911's rounded shape to my eye, but to others, that might be part of the appeal.

That said, the contrasting silver hues of those Sport Techno rims and the Polar Silver clashes a bit more than would result with an Arctic Silver car color (at least as they appear in your third photo).

I'm torn about the turbo twists on my car as well. I like them, just not in love with them. I think a bit more "bling" is needed. I really like the black with chrome rim.

While I'm not a huge fan of the twists, I'm even less of a fan of the black/silver wheel combo. Twists may scream "early 00's Porsche," but the black/silver combo is very 80's to me. Color the lip black and call it good!

Stick with the turbo twists, black wheels are so played out... really they are.

It's a very subjective thing. I think that the silver/polished lip makes the black wheels work. Solid black wheels don't do it for me.
