Thanks!!! I generally get bored and get a different car every 12 months. But I think this might finally be "the one"...

Especially at that price with all the goodies and updates it came with. What a lucky find.

I'm off to browse local PCA chapter classifieds now..

Congrats! Hope you have many trouble free miles.

Those look like the same seats that were in my 986. I'm about the same size as you and also felt they were a bit narrow on the torso. But they do tend to hold you in during spirited driving and I did get used to them in time. You could look for a set of hardback sport seats. Sometimes track rats swap them out for racing seats. I have the sport seats in my 996 and they are great seats for a street car IMO.

Please put me next in line if you dont' sell it to Slakker. And to Slakker, congrats on a super deal. Best deal I've seen on a nice early car. Enjoy!

Slakker - Congrats on the purchase and welcome! I had a '99 C4 aero coupe and absolutely loved that car. Although I sold it and bought a 996tt, I have great memories of that '99. 98% of the turbo experience at 40% of the cost. The NA 996s actually sound better than the turbos and you can put your foot into for more than just a couple of seconds without putting yourself at risk of incarceration.

Turbos are great, but the NA 996 is an awesome car - in some ways better than much more expensive and more respected cars. They are the best kept secret in the Porsche kingdom (and maybe all of the automotive world).

Thx Dporto! That's a heck of a deal but I'm going to let SFZ have it. I really miss my SSK. It's bad enough KoP has me contemplating a Numeric when I know the Porsche SSK will more than meet my needs.

+1 for the 997 shifter. Most cost effective upgrade. Interested to see what you find with the cruise control. I have the same issue, and identical car but thats a coincidence. I'm begining to think all 99's are silver. What production month is yours?

I'll let you know on the cruise.... 3/98 production date. Yours? When I black out the wheels and lower it they will really look a like. Might have to avoid the same public gatherings.

Found the LN IMS Retrofit serial number sticker on the door as well. That's kind of cool.

I am interested in the cruise control also. I have a 1999 c2 with 15000 miles on it and the only thing that does not work is the cruise control. If you press the button the light goes on, but it will not engage.

I had almost talked myself into the BMI SSK after finding it for $300 until I saw the Numeric blims on sale for $600 with free shipping in the parts marketplace. I couldn't resist. Only 2 more left if anyone is interested
