Real Value of a 996
So I love my '99 996, but there are days when I get tired or shifting, not having enough room to take much with me, teenagers that are driving, etc... and I keep thinking about maybe trading it in for a used Panamera or something more practical. 78k miles and in pretty good condition. The problem is, every website I visit gives me different values for what it's worth(from $10k-23k). Anyone have any "good" data ?

SWAG since I am currently in the market for a 996 C2 Coupe, 6 speed like yours. With the mileage in the 65-85K range I'll say $15-17K for a nice, no issues, documented history car. Recent IMSB, clutch would add $1.5K for my purposes. Mileage under 50K would be a plus $1-2K.
Like I said, it's just a SWAG.

Trade-in value? 99 C2 coupe MT at 80k miles is around $13-14k without knowing the options. If it has some sweet options on the sticker that could bump it $1-2k.

The ONLY opinion that will matter about the value of your car is........what you and the dealer will agree upon. You can bring/show whatever data you want (KBB, Edmunds, cargurus, autotrader, etc) which will be worth squat if you cannot find a dealer/buyer who will accept or agree with it.
Best of luck.

-coupe/cab?
-ext color, interior color
-manual/tip?
-complete service records? documented oil changes
-was clutch replaced, when were brakes done?
-is IMS bearing updated? this is a $2200 - $2400 job not $1500
-is body & paint very good-excellent? any dings/dent bad scratches?
-what options
an excellent condition 78K mile 996 narrow body coupe, 6 speed with updated services, complete service history, IMS done, with good color combo(not meridian exterior or red interior)would probably be in the fair range of $19-$20K at the very highest in todays market
supply these answers and photos and we can try to determine an accurate value.

I should start buying 996's in the US.... in Europe, the cheapest ,running 996 will still set you back 18-20K. And that's the bottom end of the market...
We see a rise in prices here, especially the 4S, Turbo and GT3 ( around 80K for a Mk1 ).

My 2cents
Groovzilla's posting covers the variables nicely. These used cars are now some 25 years old. Too many have been through some uncaring owners.
Well maintained w/records and sympathetically driven examples will always command a premium. This axiom applies to all vehicles, especially sports cars.

Silver coupe, 6 speed, grey interior.
Bought it used in 2005 and have all records since then, but have had to do very little. Maintenance done as needed(60k service done), oil changes, etc...Dealer says not to worry about IMSB, but when I replace clutch should consider it.
Some dings and scratches, but overall looks pretty nice.
Probably worth more to me than what someone would give me for it because it is after all a 911.
