For the long haul, you can't go wrong with leather. I love the look of the leather-covered center console with a center seam and contrasting stitching.

Not sure of pricing, but I would love to do that in my car.

This one is alcantara, but you get the idea:

I've done the wrap on some other cars and will be doing it on my 996 this summer.

You're better off wrapping and trimming yourself as some of those kits leave gaps and uncovered sections on the trim.

frisbee - Who does that leather wrap? That center console/storage bin in black leather with red contrasting stitching I think would look great in my car. It already has red stitching, but the center console is a big bunch of plain. I saw a leather black w/red stitching storage bin cover on ebay that I thought about, but that console cover looks good.

This shop sells leather wraps specially for Porsches. They look oem quality. I've looked on US and German ebay weekly for oem leather center consoles that came from the exclusive option. I have only come across one, which was more expensive than the classicnine route, but also in a brown color. There is another company who makes similar leather packages like classicnine, but the finished product did not look as good, however it was priced for less.

Yeah we have all the exclusive leather options in ours (leather vent slats FTW!!!). We long since ditched the old radio so we have a dead DSP unit and tape holder that I want to replace with cubbies, but at $500 for the lower and $700 for the upper those useless bits will continue to sit there for some time to come...

Sell the CF wheel and e-brake and use the money to get the interior redone by a paint shop?

If you have two open slots, you could do a lower console delete if you were so inclined...

Price out the interior and you are looking at some serious coin.

My graphite grey console looked every bit as bad as yours. Took it out of the car (very easy), sanded it down by hand (a little work, but you want a smooth surface). Then used a $30 bottle of leather dye. Takes several very light coats (they dry fast) and it looks like new. Has held up very well, and if it gets a nick here and there, its easily fixed.

Pics? I'd like to see how looks in the car compared to the leather. Never would have considered leather dye
