Just got off the phone with USAA. For the Porsche alone they were $1210/yr. Close to three times the cost of Classic Auto Insurance (American Modern Home). If I moved DDs and home to USAA the Porsche would drop to $1010 a year. Still quite high IMHO. AAA is supposed to call after filling out online quote. We have clean driving records, own home, FICOs 810+.
Be careful with these "classic" car insurance policies. I couldn't find one that covered me for ordinary non-commuting use of my car for transportation. That's right, you have to agree to drive your car only on a pleasure cruise (no stopping off at the hardware store, etc.), on your way to a PCA event, in a parade or on your way to a car show.

We have both our 56 Sunliner and 996 on collector policies. Neither Hagerty nor State Farm have those restrictions. State Farm wants to know max mileage (I think we have it at 7500 each or something). We have state farm, have been shopping hagerty. Neither was a whole lot of money.

I was with State Farm and switched to Geico. Saved about $100 per month. Nothing against or for anyone, other than different companies choose to treat zip codes differently.
I worked in insurance briefly for Geico, which is a great company, but not always the cheapest, but great for customer service if something goes wrong.
The three things that affect the cost of your insurance the most are: 1. Credit report (yes, credit report, it is statistically the most predictive data point) 2. Zip code (zip code is huge) 3. Driving record

I have my Lotus Esprit with Hagerty. They do have those restrictions on my policy. Must be kept in a garage, can not be driven daily ,limit to miles driven per year , and lastly , can only be driven to shows, and event runs , etc.
They do have agreed value which is one very large bonus in my book
The Pcar and my daily driver are with Mercury . Their policy has been priced right and the one claim I placed 5 years ago was handled with no problems .
I have now spoken to Hagerty and their quote was just a little cheaper than I am paying State Farm. They are really specific about this 3500 mile thing too - any suggestion you might drive more than this per year seemed to raise an eyebrow and - I'm sure - the premiium.
That's sickening. Up here in, the province is the only insurer. I pay $1900 for the year. And that's with a perfect driving record, no accidents and no claims. Eff.
check out Amica. No agents. I've had them for almost 35 years, and every time I shop nobody beats them. My BIL in NJ just switched all of his coverage to them and was astounded at the savings. Fantastic claims service, for both Auto and Home. They are picky for new customers, and have turned away a couple of people that I know of. Fine with me! Keeps the premiums down.
I do have Hagerty on an old truck of mine, because it was dirt cheap, had declared value, and I almost never drive it.
