Default Fuel filter location on a cab

I've looked in the tunnel and by the coolant tank but there is no filter there. Is there another location?

What year/model do you have? I have a '99 C2 cab and it was located in the tunnel. Its a little hard to see it but it is there, hidden behind some coolant pipes. I replaced it. If I recall, it may have been listed as a "non-serviceable" item. Not really sure why.

Not sure what MY but at some point Porsche dropped the external serviceable fuel filter for an in-tank unit that is not serviceable.

My 2002 Boxster has the in-tank filter.

The "filter" consists of a very fine mesh in the plastic housing the holds the fuel pump and secures it to the floor of the fuel tank.

When the fuel pump in my Boxster quit at around 200K miles the mesh had trapped some particulate matter but not much and there was still plenty of filter area that even had the pump not failed but continued to work ok restriction of fuel flow into the pump would not be a concern.

^^^^Yeah It looks they stopped the replaceable filter at 2001. Well that's kind of dumb if you ask me for Porsche to do that.
