finally, somebody that has been on the 151, the devils drop. This may be my favorite road. DANGER NO TRUCKS NO TRAILERS DO NOT ENTER IN ICE CONDITIONS. thats what the sign says
I also like the 276
the rattler is good especially the 63 part. The 80 is good too.
I think all of these are as good at the tail and alot more scenic

151 is a hidden gem. Technical drive but very lightly traveled.

There are some amazing roads in that part of the country. The only problems are multi-generation, red-neck locals in beat-up pickups who pay no attention to what double yellow lines are meant for, seniors who've forgotten which pedal is for "go" and fall foliage season tourists. I spent 11 years living off of US 276 in the Brevard area, and it has two very choice sections: The first comes up out of SC into NC (on the left, below) and climbs about 2000 feet in elevation with no intersections and only a couple of driveways; the second (on the right) starts at Brevard and rises (again) about 2000 feet going up to the Blue Ridge Parkway.
Early Sunday mornings can be amazing drives. And while I was back there I did manage to cross The Dragon off of my Bucket List, but even on an August Tuesday, the amount of traffic made it disappointing. The secondary highways on the way to and returning from The Dragon were a lot more fun.

Generally speaking .... anything going up to or down from the BRP is a great drive.

You can not go wrong with this region.

Phoenix Metro has the gem called South Mountain park. The roads and dips are awesome, but you have to drive them many times over to get a feel for turns as most are invisible as this kid found out.

You can pull off the "anti-gravity" on the few dips around the tower, feeling your butt float out of the seat along with everything that's laying free in the car is epic.
