my car is at the dealer's for a week (repairs). they gave me a dodge neon
claims porsche's allowance is $30/day for a loaner on warranty repairs. I come to find out two other dealers (much farther away) will give you a boxster. other dealers (non-porsche) will often give you something equivalent or close to what you've got. Q: what does your dealer do for you? the bill on this repair is probably ca $7k.

Mine doesn't bother with a loaner - from the showroom they chauffeur you to a championship golf course for the day, drop the missus at a health spa, and pick you up in the afternoon after the work on the car is finished. And all as part of the service.

My dealer gives me something from Enterprise. Not the greatest, but considering I didn't buy the car there and it is out of warranty, I guess I can't complain.

Did your contract with the dealer include a specific type of loaner car when your car underwent service? If not, I think that you should be very happy to get a car at all!
This reminds me of people complaining to airlines when they pay for coach class seats and do not get their first class upgrades...
Look at the bright side: You get to drive a "normal" car so that you can really enjoy your car when you get it back.
