Default M1-107 is a full flow oil filter also

So bored today and had the m1 oil filter left over. I have the spin on adapter which recommends the Napa gold 1042 which is full flow with no bypass. The diagram of the Mobil 1 filter shows a bypass valve. I cut open my filter and guess what. There is no bypass.

I was under the false assumption that the M1-107 had wire backed pleats like the Napa Platinum and K&N filters, so actually it's more like the Napa Gold in that respect. Good to see the teardown. Thanks!

What would be the benefit of running the M1-107 filter? Isn't it more expensive than Napa Gold?

From a specs standpoint, I think the M1-107 might have a higher burst limit, but I may be wrong. Otherwise, looks very similar in material and construction. The Napa Platinum looks almost identical to the K&N on the inside.

Benefit to the m1-107? They sell it at autozone. You get it free with the oil change specials.

Interesting that the Mobil1 has a flat spring, it looks very similar to these filters:

On the hunt to see if there is an OE filter that would be available from an OPC during an oil change for those of us who aren't in the USA and can't get the recommended filters very easily.
