If I do a drag race with this guy, will that improve my 2.36% chance of IMSB failure? More importantly Will I win?

BTW, I'm told he is in a LaFerrari

Yeah - pretty dull over in the 997.2 Forum right? Nothin' really going on, maybe a bit of carbon on the intake valves at BEST! Oh wait - "How long will the PDK clutches last"? IMSB issue? NOW WE HAVE SOMETHING TO TALK ABOUT and the long term 996ers want to shut it down?

The first thing you have to do to be properly accepted here is to start yourself a thread about the IMSB (though you need to incorrectly refer to it as just IMS which is a related but different part). Bonus points if you don't search and read first, but go into great detail about your new theory that will once and for all solve the IMSB issue.

If you really want to be part of the in crowd, some pics of the spatulas you installed to clean the air would go a long way.

Ideally, you will buy a 996 and then:
a) a year later, sell it because you're afraid of the exposure, even after maniacally fixing every possible issue, yet continue to hang around RL996 offering ridiculous advice and smooching the a$$ of a prominent Porsche engine builder, even though you no longer own a Porsche of any sort (*cough* KrazyK *cough*)
b) 8 months later, sell it in order to get a wide-body 997 with no IMS bearing, only to realize later that your 997 is a narrow-body with an IMS bearing, but continue to hang around RL996 trying desperately to be relevant & clever because the 997 kids and the 993 guys can't stand you (*cough* JohnnyIrish *cough*)
c) several years later, continue to hang around here offering advice, regardless of whatever goes wrong with your 996 (*cough* Cuda, Ahsai, and everyone else not made of equal parts p***y and b***h *cough*)

Now be fair Schnelly, we know the real reason KK sold his car was because he couldn't find the appropriate color of paint to follow through the the most excellent paint advise he was given

Props just for typing all that. I read all the way through even though the average net attention span is two sentences, max.

Everyone bitches about new IMSB threads but notice how everyone responds to them? This one is on its fourth page in 2 days. A little over two years ago I purchased my 2002. My feelings on the IMSB issue was failure rate between 3-8% so if you call it 5% that's about 1 in 20. So for every car that had an issue there are 19 that did not. I drive mine daily. I'm hyper vigilant about oil changes and oil level. And examine my filter and magnetic drain plug for any metallic bits.

Ummm...how many of the responses in this thread actually address the topic without sarcasm or boobies?

Why can't there be sarcastic boobies?

This quote is a prime example of why IMSB threads are stupid. When you and others make up statistics and masquerade them as fact, you contribute to the IMSB signal to noise ratio, making it that much harder for people who want FACTS to actually find them.

However, congratulations on your feelings.

Maybe you can call Natalie Imbruglia or Lisa Loeb and write a duet about them.

Strange, there is a condom currently on the market called "The Guardian" with no ties to JR ......at least I think so...I believe a patent may have been involved.
