Default Identify that color

I had a customer bring in his new 996 for a rms but, wasn't expecting to see such a rare color on it. I've never seen it on a Porsche. Does anyone know the name of it? I was also wondering about the engine lid emblem. If this car wasn't a cabrio I would have made an offer on it.

Dead link.
Do you know any information on the engine lid emblem? Just wondering if this was some sort of special model that was produced.

It's hard to tell the color in your photo. Based on a Google search, it appears to be Porsche Orange Red Pearl Metallic, introduced on MY 2000 cars.

The color code is inside the front left fender, you have to peel back the carpet a little bit, it has the color code and name. Inside the frunk at the very front.

No. Someone put an older model (like 356/911 era?) logo on it.

Yes, the L1A8 paint code from the hood sticker refers to "Orange Red Pearl Metallic" which according to this website http://www.uniquecarsandparts.com.au...rsche_2001.htm is a 2001 color.

Its got to be a rare color. I cant recall ever seeing a 996 in this color.
I think Zanzibar Red is a similar color tho less orange in tone.

Agreed. It looks to me like some of the Porsche script I've seen on early 1970's 914 models.

It does appear to be old script but, if so someone must have put it on there when they bought it bc it has the perfect patina.
I've been wishing it wasn't a cab all day but, prob best that it is or I wouldn't be leaving that guy alone to buy his car lol
