okay, so why does new balance name shoes after porsche 911's?

Reasonable, now what does everyone think the best color combination is? Do they offer a Dye To Sample option? If so I'm thinking Mauve uppers with Peridot laces could make a statement.

Clearly, Porsche has been copying New Balance, not the other way around.
The New Balance 996 was released in 1988, and the New Balance 997 was released in 1991.
I see a major law suit coming. After all, as we all know, the 911 was originally to be named the 901, but Porsche lost out on that one, too.
Next thing you know, Porsche will build a new model they name the Air Jordan.

Not yet, but there are specialty shops offering a full or partial blue vinyl wrap to mod the 996's into a 997 look. Or you can call Fonzy and plastidip your 996's
