A few RL'ers are driving (maybe more than a few, and some slowly (me!)). Swing by Garage 25 and say hi. Will be there all day tomorrow and Sunday.

996pp and hernandezja, great meeting you in Fontana... your cars look fantastic! Love that speed yellow w/ aerokit. Looks even better in person than in the pix.

Hernandezja, that's one clean car...not even one rock chip! Gettin' out my Dr. Colorchip kit tomorrow to clean up my front bumper.

Too bad the parade laps got so hosed up... ah well... a good time anyway.

Couldn't make it today; kids wouldn't get up, but I'll be in Fontana tomorrow. Hope to have a run in with anyone that might be there. It's still going tomorrow right? That's what I saw in the web.

^^^ The wait is typical. But, this year there were over 300 cars signed up for the parade lap. Last year there were about 150. They send the cars out in small groups of about 15 cars.

This is done during a mid-day break between races. So, we ran out of time getting all the cars out onto the track.

Last year I got 5 laps and was hitting about 130 on the banked curve.

This year, I got stuck behind some $#!@# a-hole in a 912 with two Go-Pros mounted. That dick spent the entire lap playing with his cameras.

They don't allow passing, so there was nothing I could do. He was under 50 mph on the bank, and at one turn I noticed we were going 12 mph!!!!

I'm 99.999% sure that guy's DD is a Prius.

Then, they pulled us off the track after only one partial lap, because they had to clear the track for the next race.

Watched some great racing yesterday, though, and saw lots of friends out there.

Also, I later found out that on the way up that I took out a 993's windshield on the freeway with a rock. That's two confirmed 993 windshield kills for me so far.

I had a great time with all you peeps. We should definetly put together a canyon run. Cuda your car sounds amazing with the Fabspeeds.
Larry you can lead the canyon run as you drive like an 20 year old in an 50 year old body.

Default Saturday at Festival of Speed

Hey guys, new to the forum. I was at the Festival yesterday - was with my two small boys and waited an hour for one crappy lap behind a slow driver. Had a good time regardless and got to see Chip Romer destroy the field in the afternoon. Got my kids out with an instructor on the mini-autocross too in a new Cayman GTS.

Saw a thread from 2 years ago and they got 5 laps and were able to go 100 mph.

I guess there were just a lot more cars this year. Total cluster %$#@

Would have spent more time socializing if I didnt have to tend to the needs of two small kids but met a few cool people regardless.

Hope to meet some of you gents. I just did my first HPDE last month and intend to do 4-5 a year as well as some autocross and social events.
