None of the storage places close to me have electric options for a trickle charge or climate control. Would you start it then? It's *** cold here November-March. It was -4 today.
Cold here in canada, we are having a warm spell today, high of 5F.
But car is in warm garage at my mom's garage. 4-6 weeks till we start her up, can't wait!!
I asked the same questions a while back and was told by a very knowledgeable guy(in my opinion) "Thank you for not starting during the storage period." I followed his advice along with what is already posted above. Your battery will go dead within a period of time due to parasitic systems still active in the car. The Bentley book recommends trickle charging if going to sit for more than 6 weeks. If the battery dies then you have the hood opening issue, as I think yours probably has the electric triggered latch. It can be overcome but is a hassle. Leave" frunk" unlatched. Never read anything about climate control storage, mine is in my garage and it is cold in Nebraska as well.

Trickle charger installed when I put it away.
I don't start it during storage.
Can't wait for snow to go!
Thanks for your input!
I'm in agreement with LexVan but over the course of a winter on warmer days when roads are clear of snow and crap I'll run mine but typically I'll drive it for 30-45 minutes. Brutal February here in Massachusetts however so she hasn't poked her nose out of the garage since December.
Pull out your spark plugs and get a boroscope in to inspect the liners in the spring if you're car is parked and started outstide all the time in those temps...
