Default New 996 owner looking for opinion on best looking wing

Hi, I'm a fairly new 996 owner and I must say that I'm pleasantly surprised with how nice this car is after researching the car for years and hearing complaints about various issues.. My car is a Black 99 C2 with LSD, IMS done, and very low miles. I'm looking to update the looks of the car with new clear Porsche headlights, led tail lights, new rear wing/spoiler, and possibly front and rear bumpers. I just wanted to see what wing you guys think looks best on a narrow body C2 and how makes the best quality wing. Let me know you opinion.. Thank you!

why mess with an already beautiful car by adding a wing?
Are you intending to track the car?

Nice variety on that website, Fracture.

I'm not a huge fan of most of the wings on the 996 body. I think the "taco" wing looks very dated, and most of the larger wings are just obnoxious. (I'm talking aesthetics here, not performance). Just my .02.

That said, some of the "turbo" style wings look good, and the GT2 & GT3 style are nice. Even the smaller "ducktail" variety aren't bad, but if you stray too far from one of the OEM looks, it just looks childish.

Threads where someone asks other people what their opinion should be seldom end well. Do you have any impressions to start with, like Porsche or aftermarket, factory-looking or outlandish track wing?

I think the MKII wing is the best looking wing - which is why I bought a 996 with a GT3 (AKA Aero Kit 2) wing on it.

The "correct" wing for your car - if it had come with an aerokit from Porsche - would be the taco spoiler.

The Misha wing is my second favorite...

Note that some of the wings are adjustable - mine, for example, is flat in the last photo, but I currently run 8-degree shims to make the wing push a little harder. Looks like this:

Here's a shot from a high-performance driving school showing my wing with no shims (back), a taco spoiler (front), and a big-azz GT3-RSish track wing (middle):

thanks for that site, I am a fan of mk2 aerokit as well, and probably will replace my aerokit I with it someday. (whole kit/bumpers/headlights/sills etc)

but I only would prefer the oem parts

'996 ducktail'.... no wing for me, prefer the looks of stock..but there is ducktail wing that I find appealing too

My favorite is the factory, electronically actuated wing. The 996 GT3 wing is the best looking fixed wing in my opinion.

Wish someone made a ducktail for the 996.

I really like that - reminds me of the 911 Turbo (930).

In my opinion, the GT2 Wing is the best looking for the 996
