Love it. Tape off the round part of the headights and spray then remainder with white plastidip. That would make it look like a 911

I did that with my car. Overall it looks pretty good, though I did a poor job masking so the lines are off. I'm peeling and respraying it with a better masking tape.

The picture gives you the idea though.

I'll live with it for a few days and if it remains appealing I'll have some one do it professionally with paint. Thanks for the Plastidip recommendation.
Cheers.
I love it

Huge improvement. From the bottom of the lights can you add some plastidip to "round the headlights so they look less oval and more round? Anyway, ten times better than stock.

I've got a seal grey 996 c4s cab. Am thinking of having it wrapped in red.
Also thinking of having the spoiler and mirrors wrapped in pseudo carbon fibre...

Always wanted it to be red, and wrapping is reversible...

Cinellipro - is that you I "ran in to" on Kendall drive tonight?? I love the look, really makes it look retro in a good way.
Liked it so much I did a rennlist search as soon as I got home! Seriously considering on my white 997, figure can't go wrong since it's totally reversible.

It was me on Kendall. The plastidip has held up perfectly. I like the look and plan on making it permanent. Once it starts peeling or fading I'm going to have it painted professionally. I do think this modification works best aesthetically with whites, reds and yellows. Especially with the black carrera script and bumperets. Hey, if Magnus Walker can modify 911s then why can't we!

I joined the bandwagon! Didn't bother taping off the bottom of the spoiler, just dipped the whole thing because I'm lazy

Also did the wheels today because mine look like they've touched every curb in the continental US of A.

Ryan... It Looks Great! I did not paint (plastidip) the entire grille because I thought it would have been overkill. Instead it looks fluid with the design of your car. Great job!

Thanks! I was really just too lazy to try and mask off the back "lip" of the wing like you did

Either way I think it looks great, and so far the BMW crowd (with whom I hang) seems to think it looks pretty good.

I think we need to see this done on red and yellow 996s.

I was bored and had an hour to kill. Going with the OP theme of retro I did a quick tape off to see what a early wing with rubberized section might look like. I peeled it off afterwards. I'd have to come up with the best tape and peal method for a clean line. Kinda looked cool, cant beat the way this stuff just peels off, so cool. Will likely do the center section and see if I like that against the silver, I do have stain black wheels so I like the way the black breaks it up a bit.
