Default Anyone Painted their Rear Spoiler Black: Retro

First, apologies for not bringing up a problem with my car's IMSB. I have always liked the look of the rear lid/spoilers in black which are found in the early 911 and now in the 991s. Has anyone done this? Any pictures?
Cheers

You could try the plastidip paint route first. If you didn't like it easily fixable.

That's definitely a retro look for sure. Not sure that I like it.

I think it works with white - especially with the black bumperettes... Not sure if it would do much for darker colors...

Plastidip sounds interesting. Will it withstand the heat from the engine? The reason I'm considering the change is because the paint in the grill area has begun to turn yellow. So I either have it repainted original or go with the black.

Found this 2015 picture:

I think it would be a good look on a white car. Plastidip holds up to abuse on wheels so that area shouldnt be too bad

I think it will give it a sportier look. Some people may not like it. However, it will highlight that it is a rear engine car. I will also say that it will probably work better with non-metallic bright colors (e.g. white, yellow, red)

I think plasti dip should be fine with the heat. If not, it will be fully reversible just in case you don't like it or if it start peeling.

Plasti-dip will be fine on the engine cover. I painted the exhaust tips on my C5 with it.

Completed the Plastidip. The job looks good from a distance but once you get close you notice the imperfections along the edge. There are no distinct lines to follow so I had to make up my own while masking. Regarding the aesthetics, it is a change but not necessarily an improvement. I'll live with it for a few days and if it remains appealing I'll have some one do it professionally with paint. Thanks for the Plastidip recommendation.
Cheers.

Looks good! It's tough to see (from the photo's) what your talking about with the edges, but I'll take your word for it... Overall "A"
