Default If anyone is in the Market - White 99 C2

I looked at this car last week, it's very, very nice. It's a 99 with leather dash and door panels, DOES NOT have xenons, has a LSD, well, here is the codes:

C02 Equipped with Catalytic Converter
X54 Stainless steel tailpipes
X70 Stainless steel door entry guards with logo
X71 Alu-look instrument dials
X97 Gear lever **** with aluminium inlay
X98 Handbrake lever with aluminium inlay
220 LSD 40 %
222 Traction Control
224 Automatic LSD
236 Internal production code related to tyres
413 18" 993 Turbo-look wheels (not hollow spoke)
424 CD compartment
436 3-spoke steering wheel
437 8-way electrical seat, left
438 8-way electrical seat, right
490 Sound system
537 Seat memory, left
696 CD-radio Porsche/Becker CDR-220
939 Draped leather rear seats
936 Leather rear seats

It was on ebay a few weeks ago: http://www.ebay.com/itm/361094557504?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2648&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
The guy who is selling it bought it from a guy in Oak Brook, IL who he works with to sell cars to. The previous owner is a car nut and puts money into them after he buys them to get them right. He was the third owner, and after he bought it had the IMS bearing done with a LN, RMS, new clutch, water pump and belt. The car has 45K miles on it. Also had new control arms put on it.

I found the receipt for the new tires, and they were put on at 43.5K miles, so about 1500 miles on them. The car is really nice, the only thing wrong with it is the passenger side door sill came undone and needs some two sided tape to put it back in place and it needs a new driver's side floor mat.

No dings and no scratches that I noticed.

This headlight had the condensation in the bottom corner....that was the only thing noticeable on the exterior.

No scuffs on any of the wheels, they all look like this:

Interior was in pretty much perfect shape except for the door sill and driver's side mat.

I could see the transmission had been removed by looking at the bolts, the under tray was perfect, and I could see the new water pump and belt.

I want a car with an Aero kit, so I am going to pass on this one. However, I thought I would share with others as it seems to be very nice.

This is a car that you don't need to do anything on. Super clean, low miles. The guy selling it is named Norman, the kind of a guy you want to buy a car from. His number is 773-230-4011.

He offered me the car for $21,000.00. Sounds like a pretty good deal.

I agree, and I do like white, but mine is black. Good luck with your aero search.

*edit* Shows option code 220 - "Locking differential (40%)" - very cool indeed.

It shows 220 also.....isn't that the LSD code? The option sticker is on the ebay ad.

I did not notice that it has both - so it DOES in fact have the unicorn 996 LSD. Rare option in a less common color...very nice.

Nice -- someone upgraded the wheels to the Sport Classic II's (BBS).

Apart from the front plate holder, that is one gorgeous unmolested example of the 996. What is the mileage? Anything over 80000 could be a slight detriment. IMHO

Was that driver wearing ice climbing shoes or cloggs. I don't like the wear on that drivers carpet. RED FLAG right there. What is the correct mileage of this car.?

A mat that has a hole in it that can be replaced for less than $100 and it's a red flag? OMG!!!! Run!!!!

The car was pretty much absolutely pristine. Last owner dumped a ton of money into it and now it can be somebody else's for not much money. This car is a winner, no red flags here.

A carpet with a large hole in it, right below the clutch pedal, plus the condition of the slide in, slide out, part of the drivers seat, does not scream out a 'low mileage car' to my reckoning. In fact it screams out 'Just the opposite". Once again I ask. What is the mileage on this car?

Could just be a car that was driven for a lot of shorter trips, as opposed to highway miles. I think that was the case with my car ... 60k miles (verified), hole in floor mat, worn seat bolster. Doesn't take much to wear through a factory floor mat, nor does it take much to scuff up the driver's side seat bolster.

FWIW, my car needed a new clutch at 60k. No idea if that was due to a lot if stop and go driving by the PO, or if the PO didn't know how to drive. Either way, I bought the car with 60k miles, a worn seat bolster, a floor mat with a hole in it, and a new clutch. Got new mats, bolster is still worn, car runs great.
