Hurricane Sandy flood vehicle. It's parts now, but kudos to the seller for being very forthcoming. Most Sandy flood cars have been sold as new with no title affect. Very sad. If a carfax shows registration in NY, NJ, or a couple other states nearby in 2012 be afraid. Be very afraid.
It was then registered in NJ 2+ years later, indicating that a lot of time (and likely work) was done on it.
The pages of the CarFax are way down at the bottom of the pictures along with photos of receipts for the parts and work on the electrics farmed out.

The CarFax points to the Summer of 2013 and the location (based upon services performed previous to that) appears to be western PA (Sewickley). That would point to summer rain storms in the upper reaches of the Ohio River.

Dunno, anytime salt water and sand are involved coupled that to a car that has high parts prices/labor, it seems like a big risk personally for very minimal gain in the end.

Completely agree... Porsches bring very strong money on BAT, especially when you add in the 5% buyers premium!

I guess you can say "If you say so," but i'm just reading the CarFax and doing a Google search for that PA town and Summer 2013 flooding. Ask Attorney if that's reasonably strong evidence about it not being Hurricane Sandy (which, IIRC, was just before the 2012 Presidential election (ask NJ Gov. Christie!)).
I'm not a partisan on this car, but just trying to present some balancing evidence/information/facts.

BAT runs auctions directly, so yes, they are listed as final bid prices and wether or not it met the reserve. I don't think they have a significant problem with deals not closing after auction as the bidders must pony up a significant deposit (via credit card) to bid.
In addition to there auctions, BAT has pointers to cars listed elsewhere.... Those aren't the prices we are referring to.

For those that didn't see KCAttorney's pictures, this one is actually in South Dakota so not really Minneapolis. Given the miles and year, I don't think this is worth the $28K. Dealer price though, but I wouldn't imagine this would go for more than $25K, and I'm thinking more than likely in the $21-23.5K range (but that is my opinion).Bummed it isn't in Minneapolis as I would have stopped by to take a look.

I do feel like values on these cars fluctuate wildly depending on condition, mileage, and maintenance. To the right person, it could be worth closer to it, and certainly there are those who will walk in off the street and see what looks like a good priceon a 911, and drive off in it without doing their research.

Looks like a well-sorted, low mileage car, might be priced a little on the high side but not by much.

And an Aerokit C4, maybe with a few too many mods, but I have a soft spot for Lapis Blue.
