Sure are B3. Sorry about your Dawgs!

I think we even looked at the same Anniversary Edition that was in Roswell (car is FS again in DC now for +5k).

I ended up finding an AE out of state and having it trailered here to GA. Couldn't be happier after upgrading IMS/RMS.... yada yada yada. It is a phenomenal drive.

That game against Alabama was a nail biter to the end. Unfortunately, we came up short even in OT. Could you believe their young QT? Lawd, what a game winning pass!

And yea, I remember that AE in Atlanta that sold for around $23,000. But remember, it had an accident on the Carfax and looked like it was parked outside a lot because of the oxidation on the headlight enclosures. You made the right decision by looking elsewhere! Glad to hear you're enjoying the car. I'm sure you can enjoy it more since you replaced the IMS bearing. Which one did you go with? What shop installed it?

(Read description - 5th line down)

Can't tell you how many times I've seen these types of ads in the last year. I search CL, eBay, etc. regularly. People that think the IMS bearing failure problem is a hoax then you need to get your head out of the sand.

It amazes me when I see a comment about how these are going up...Yes some are asking higher prices but what are they really selling for?

Yes, for the high-mileage and abused. Nice ones seem to be pretty stable (note: not increasing). Once the beaters are all beat, then it will be our time to shine!

Actually, based auction/dealer data for "concours grade" 996 cars in the third quarter 2017, the M96 based 996 have dropped about $1,500 since the first qtr. The average 996 is continuing to slide about $1000 per year. Currently, the average selling price is $19,000 for a good quality 996 coupe and $16,500 for the cabriolet. The only ones that are really beginning to appreciate are the limited quantity exclusive non-M96 cars like the GT3 and GT2, especially if they're concours grade cars.

$105k for a 993 (not a turbo). Explain to me how this is worth 5 x my 996.

Its a 4s with a factory aerokit and low mileage. Closest thing you'll get to a 993 turbo without an actual 993 Turbo!

A-yup.

Also: rare color combo, good condition, low miles, (and in spirit with robroy) it's a looker. It's not fair to us pure-of-heart enthusiasts, but it's "second chance" time for the guys who couldn't snag one new but can afford to snag one for "new prices" used.

Thank you for all your research and data. Makes me feel better about having to wait.
